I ran for Los Alamitos School Board in November 2014 against two incumbents. I was unable to pull enough votes for one of the two seats, but in just two short campaign months, my supporters and I were able to prove to the School Board and the community that we are ready for a change. With only a 10% differential between me and the second place finisher, the tide is turning. We made a great showing, and our fight - for our kids - isn't over.
This November, three seats on the School Board are up for re-election. Two of the incumbents will have been sitting for 12 years and one will have been sitting for 16. They have chosen to run again, so we need to come together as a community to let our leadership know that it is time for new blood and fresh ideas to lead this district into the 21st century.
