"Running" for Los Al School Board 2014

I spent Sunday morning, 10/19/14, participating in the Los Al School Ghoul. Not only did I have the opportunity to talk to Los Al families and community members all morning, but I also realized while running that the School Board race is a lot like taking on a running challenge. Both take a commitment to train and prepare for the event, fortitude to see it through when the going gets tough, and stamina to make it to the finish line.

Since 2014, I have trained for and completed 13  half-marathons , so not only am I am ready for the upcoming Board election "race," but also the marathon of being your next School Board Trustee.  

Torlakson Visit to Oxford Academy

Tom Torlakson, CA State Superintendent of Schools, visited Oxford Academy in October 2014 to celebrate the innovate Student Service Foundation, spearheaded by Mike Matsuda, Anaheim Union High School District Superintendent, and implemented this school year.

Today, Torlakson was on campus to see our first grant recipients receive their awards and to compliment the projects these young students have set out to implement in their communities.

RHA Candidate Night 2014

For the 2014 School Board election, RHA hosted a Meet the Candidates night on 10/2/14, just one month before election day. 

I invite you to take a look and listen to our presentations. It's a long video, now two years old, and I'm the only one relevant for this year's election (the School Board candidate's portion of the video begins at 51:30 and ends at 1:30:00).

It can still, however, provide a glimpse into the issues which are still relevant and my passion which is still burning.
